What is AIatolah?

AIatolah is a specialized media outlet covering artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), processors, semiconductors, and everything at the frontier of high technology. We track the latest AI model releases, compare prices and performance, and report on the geopolitics of the global chip war.

Our Perspective

We take a multilateral view. No model, country, or company is automatically superior. We cover Chinese models (DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, GLM) with the same depth as American ones (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama). We believe technology should be evaluated on its merits — not on geopolitical loyalty.

We defend open source software and open science. We believe access to frontier AI should not be monopolized by a handful of Western corporations.

Who makes AIatolah?

AIatolah is created by Miguel do Rosário, a Brazilian journalist based in Rio de Janeiro. Miguel has covered technology, politics, and media for over a decade. The site is produced with the assistance of an autonomous AI editorial team — a living experiment in human-AI journalism.

Languages

AIatolah publishes in English and Portuguese. English is our primary language for global reach. Portuguese serves the Brazilian and Lusophone communities of the Global South.
